Weekly Round Up // 42.

Yesterday was another amazing day. Mike and I went to the Phoenix Zoo, where I got to feed stingrays, feed giraffes, hang out with monkeys, and spend the day outside with my favorite person. The weather was perfect. The sun was shining and there was a slight breeze. Who could ask for more?

And then, to finish my amazing day, I watched more Scandal than a human should ever digest in one sitting. Screaming and jaw-dropping and I am actually ready to watch last night's episode when it comes out on Hulu. But enough about how awesome my days off can be. It's Friday and that means one thing over here at Somehow Chaotic -- awesome links.

- Samuel L Jackson meets Boy Meets World. Perfection:

- Crunchy Taco Hamburger Helper -- Mike, this one is for you!

- It's certainly been a while since I've travelled, but I love these ideas on cheap ways to have fun.

- Good for Honey Maid. What an amazing way to react:

As always, tweet me if you have a link you want me to feature on next week's Round Up. Have a great weekend!

Weekly Round Up // 41.

What I've been up to lately? Hmm ... a lot of work. Last night, I spent the evening with my family. And currently, I'm rewatching Bob's Burgers on Huli before heading off to work. I will say that the best part about working late is getting to actually enjoy the mornings. I should be out running, but let's be honest -- it's Friday and finding the motivation to get up early is difficult.

As always, if you have any links you want to see featured on next week's Weekly Round Up, tweet me or comment here and I'd love to include your links.

- Powerful images.

- Not all of these are technically puns (Trust me. I once wrote a 12 page paper on them), but this is still a funny list.

- A squirrel feeder...in the shape of a horse head.

- A ring for Star Trek fans.

- It's not a weekly round-up if I don't include a Buzzfeed link -- Food Truths. 81beba554b24386e2ba894d7f938df85cf163550ea7952931f

Weekly Round Up // 40.

Another late post. I'm having a very hard time balancing my new work schedule and blogging. I've been trying to get all my posts ready on Sunday, but then what about my weekly round up? One of my resolutions for 2014 was to get serious about my blog and I want to figure out how to do that. I'm hoping that as I figure out this new schedule I can make more time for blogging - along with everything else that I've been skipping out on lately - ex: the gym.

If you work full time, how do you manage to make time for blogging?  That 9-5 grind is tough, man. So, onto the links:

- Hey Mike, wanna make this for me? Buffalo Hummus via Fitnessista.

- Just like writing research papers in high school, but honestly, this is a great idea and I would love to implement this in my own life: The Notecard System.

-

- How Not to Feel Like a Total Failure.

- Game of Thrones as Disney characters ... just as hilarious as you would expect it to be.

- Rachel discusses blogging for money. I totally agree -- who can deny some extra income through blogging?

- Mike and I saw The Lego Movie last weekend and I thought it was adorable and hilarious and awesome. If you haven't seen it yet, this blooper reel will convince you.
- 10 Ways to Make Yourself Happier ... via SCIENCE!

As always, if you have a link for me to share, I'd love to! Comment with your submissions and you will see them on the next Weekly Round Up.

Weekly Round Up // 39.

This week has been long and stressful. And I am so thankful for it to be over. This weekend is going to be jam packed though and as much as I have to do, I'm really looking forward to it. I'll be off both days and then on Monday -- I start my brand new job! Very exciting things going on. I hope you all have a great weekend! Onto the links...

- I want all the things on this list. Must haves for any small apartment.

- I would love this for my car. And the best part is she's from Arizona too!

- Seven Reasons to be Happy Right Now -- even if things aren't perfect. Some great reminders for why we should be happy. Why can't I ever listen to the advice from these lists?

- Have I posted this yet? The places to go in 2014. I'm craving some travel in my life.

- Mike would love this print:
                           source: The Mary Sue.
- Cheap and easy food for under $5. A great list to keep as a resource!

As always, anything you want to see on next week's Weekly Round Up -- drop me a line. Tweet me, Facebook me, email me klgstumpe at gmail dot com -- I'd love to include your submissions!

Weekly Round Up // 38.

Wow. This week has been something else. My best friend surprise flew into town on Friday night so all of last weekend was spent with her. Mike got two nights comped at the casino resort by my house so he and I slept there Sunday and Monday. And then, I got offered a job on Monday! I'm incredibly excited and I can't wait to start. The rest of my week was trying to play catch up with everything that's been going on. My desk is in total disarray and what's laundry?
It's been a great week. I'm just lagging behind on everything else. Hence, why this post is so late. But oh well. Onto the links!

- 2013's best books for 20 something year olds. This page has been an open tab forever because I keep meaning to add these books to my Amazon Wishlist.

- This was an incredibly helpful post on feeling overwhelmed -- like I've been feeling this entire week.

- Cutest thing I've seen all week:
- I can't wait to make these GF Jalapeno Corn Muffins for Mike. Via Peacoats and Plaid.

- Life Hacks -- these are super important, especially the sweat stain removal tip. Via Life Unpublished.

- And because it's not a Weekly Round Up without a Buzzfeed list: Gifs to Make You Laugh.

Weekly Round Up // 37.

This has been an incredibly productive week. I've restarted Couch to 5K and I even started a squat challenge. And, more importantly, I've been keeping my calories in check. I'm trying so hard to get back in shape. Other than working out and trying to keep my diet in check, it's been a relatively quiet week. Without further ado, here are the links for this week:

- I'm probably the only person that still thinks this song is funny, but this Adventure Time mash-up is really adorable.

- 34 Tips To Making Stuff Last Longer. Spoiler Alert: Put it in the fridge or freezer.

- And, while we're at it, another Buzzfeed list: 27 Life Hacks Every Girl Should Know. I really like #11.

- Cats and the kitty cats and the meow meow meow and the meow meow meow.
- 5 Easy Health Tips. Very simple reminders on stuff we should all be doing anyway.

- This melts my heart. At 24, I still appreciate whenever my mom packs my lunch and writes "I Love You" on the bag -- which is rare.

- Maybe I should move to Russia.

- This is a great post all about Girl Code.

Anything you want to see on next week's round up? Let me know! Leave a comment or tweet me!

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 36.

- Ironically, I found this article by procrastinating on the internet.

- Most Anticipated Movies of 2014. I had no idea there was a Gone Girl movie in the works and I'm looking forward to the Muppets movie ... even though I haven't seen the one with Jason Segal.

- We're almost two weeks into 2014, but this is an incredibly helpful list for anytime: 15 Fresh Starts for the New Year.

- Fairly funny.
- Wow - I love these so much and they make me want to go to Disneyland.

- It's Winnie from The Wonder Years and pi! Not pie.

- Here's some more pie talk because I love these Sesame Street parodies.

- I haven't been to Chicago since I was 15 and I am itching to go again. Thanks to Meg for this incredibly comprehensive guide to the city. I hope to be putting it to good use sometime this year.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 35.

Happy New Year! Mike and I had more than enough fun for everyone on New Year's Eve -- AKA: We got really drunk. I hope your New Year's Eve was fun too! And involved a little less puke than our's did. Moving on to less disgusting topics -- I'm really looking forward to 2014 and I'm excited to start making some serious changes over here at Somehow Chaotic. One thing I don't plan on changing is my Weekly Round Up of incredibly nerdy and helpful links from across the internet. Want to see a link on here next week? Tweet me @SomehowChaotic! I'd love to share your link or a video that you deem worthy.
On to the links ...

- What if Lisa Frank designed the House Sigils for Game of Thrones? Hilarity ensues.

- 45 Productivity Tips. I definitely need these.

- I want all of the pillows over at ShopNightingale. Especially this one.

- Alright, this was pretty good, but not as great as my impromptu songs I sing while I watch Star Trek:
- This is why I don't want to completely quit drinking -- moderate drinking is good for you!

And, the most important link of all: Mike has started his own photography blog - Sometimes in Focus. Check it out! I'm so proud of him and his budding photography business.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 35 (The Christmas Edition)

As I'm compiling this post, I'm making my family's shopping list for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner. I'm not the biggest Christmas fan. We have such a small family that it seems like any other day for me. And this year, I'm working as well. I wanted to get in the spirit this year and I wanted to dazzle everyone with gifts and baked goods, but the stress of everything else going on in my life has rendered that impossible.
I'm usually constantly listening to Christmas carols and this year, I never even turned on the Christmas station in my car (I keep on my podcasts to keep me awake while I drive). I've wrapped exactly three presents. And, the biggest gift I gave this year was fixing my mom's car.
I am excited to spend my first Christmas with Mike as a couple and that should be exciting and new and I worry that my Debbie Downer-ness will affect him. So, here are some Christmas-y things that make me happy and will hopefully put you in more of a Christmas spirit too! -- Not like the blogging community needs anymore Christmas spirit though. You guys have been amped for this holiday since November 1st.

-I love Picard and my favorite part is "SHUT UP WESLEY"

- Why isn't this my Christmas --- errr... Snapemus tree?

- This is my favorite Christmas video. Ever.

- Want more Patrick Stewart being amazing? Here he is with two buddies.

- Another nerdy Christmas song.
- A Christmas list for the nerd in your life if you recently won the lottery. #12 frightens me. And please don't ever show my brother #5.

- Maybe I can make these in time for next year. And yeah, it's Star Trek related.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 34.

- This is the best tumblr ever: Texts From TNG. Remember when Texts from Last Night were a thing? Well, now they're relevant again.

- D.C. is getting a Sci-Fi Museum. Even more of a reason to go back there.

- My favorite part about the end of the year is all the book lists that different sites compile. Here is the NY Times one and one from Slate.

-
This kind of, sort of really creeps me out. WHO WOULD WANT THAT?

- Breaking Bad fans: This is what Vince Gilligan thought happened to Jesse. Kind of a bummer, but I totally get it.

- Fondant. Hogwarts. That is all.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 33.

Guys, I'm blogging on my mom's computer. The wireless router is officially dead and my only access to internet is either at my boyfriend's house or on my mom's desktop. It's a weird feeling even though I get to use my old monitor (which is huge and I'm an amazing daughter for letting my mom use it). So yeah, this week is sparse, but understand the circumstances.

- The Cheapskate Guide to New York City. Why did it take me so long to find this? Everytime I go to New York, I immediately blow through my budget.

- Five Things You're Doing Wrong Before 9 AM. I'm totally guilty of all of these.

- This sweater is perfect for me.

- Cannot wait to try this recipe from Iowa Girl Eats: Quinoa with Caramelized Butternut Squash and Roasted Brussels Sprouts.

- Yes, yes, yes, yes. I Love When He Says "Take Your Time" While I'm Running Late. I'm so punctual, but for some reason, I'm always running late to meet up with Mike. And it warms my heart when he tells me to "take my time" or "it's fine. I haven't even showered yet." Dream man.

- Make your own Iron Throne. Why haven't I done this yet?

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 32.

This is a day late and a dollar short, but enjoy all these awesome posts I found over the week.

- I love this post over at Apocalypstick about how we can all be a little bit better people.

- 10 Healthy Salad ideas over at Iowa Girl Eats. All I've been eating lately is salads so I like this post for some different ideas.

- Vegan Almond Joys at One to Nothin'. Since I'm trying (Keyword here is trying) to cut out dairy,  I like that I can still enjoy some of my favorite things ... without milk.

- So, Halloween was a while ago, but CHECK OUT THIS COSTUME. So intense that it needed a video to show it off!
- Apparently, this is what your coffee order says about you, but let's be honest -- none of that is true. Want the real scoop on generalizations about coffee drinkers? Buy me a drink and I can go on for hours.

- Hey Mike, here are some vacation ideas -- 20 Places To Visit In Your 20's. But, Bisbee, AZ is on there.

- I could never be with a nap-shamer. Naps are the highlights of my days. Deal with it.

- Breanna at My Beautiful, Crazy Life posted this awesome DIY Bottle Cap table. Mike - if you're reading this, get to it, bud.

- If for some crazy reason you want to become an early riser, here's how.

- Want to add some new books to your reading list? Here are books coming out this fall that you should check out.

- I cannot wait to try this Avocado Caprese Salad from Iowa Girl Eats.

- Girls, looking for some awesome nerdy sweatshirts for this winter? Do yourself a favor and check these out.

- Let me preface this link by saying: This is kind of disturbing and I really hate snakes, but at the same time, it's kind of cool. Yeah, it's a decapitated snake head attacking it's own body.

- People were attributing Hitler quotes to Taylor Swift on Pinterest. Hilarity ensues.

- I love their blooper reels.
- If I had an extra $30 right now, I'd definitely grab this for my bro-sef.
                                      source: geekalerts.com

-  I think I've made everyone watch this video at least 5 times because I cannot get enough of it:

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 27.

- "They think their hallowed "customer" status somehow gives them the right to treat everyone with a uniform and a name tag like garbage." This article is the best thing I've read all week.

- Science! Haters gonna hate.

- Bread bedding ... only from Japan.

- Cinnamon Dark Chocolate Covered Protein Donuts .... do I have to say anymore?

- Yeah, I do. Chocolate Chip Stuffed French Toast.

- I watched all of these the other night and I don't regret it.
- Old video, but I love this premise and I think these are hilarious. Not only the tweets, but the reactions to them.

Have a great weekend everyone!

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 26.

This is going to be a good weekend. I'm off work all weekend and Mike and I are heading up to Sedona. I'm so excited about getting out of town and getting to relax.

- In honor of Breaking Bad being back and awesome, enjoy this:
- This is really adorable.
- Six Toxic Relationship Habits that we should all avoid.

- I cannot wait to watch this movie:
- How to get Game of Thrones hair.

- What if Disney Princesses had Instagram? Pretty funny.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 25.

This week has been great. I've been biking and running all week long and I'm feeling great! The diet is a little inconsistent because I found the best ice cream -- salted caramel with chocolate. And, I've been skipping on the gym to go over to Mike's for some mid-day naps and ciders. But, oh well. Spending time with him is way better than going to the gym. This weekend is my grandpa's birthday -- so we'll be spending time with him. And Mike's parents are in town too. I hope you all have a great weekend!

- Tips for being an awesome partner. Pretty self-explanatory, but great advice.

- I have been loving the Cookie Monster parodies and everytime I post them on Facebook, I am met with crickets. OH WELL.
- Proof that my brother used to be a sweet kid:

- Why can't the theme song always be in Legos?
- This is my life lately:

- My mom and I have been cleaning out her storage unit, which has resulted in finding a million pictures -- okay, that's an exaggeration, but we have so many pictures. It's obscene.  I will leave you with some of the best.

Baby Mac.

A tween on vacation.

The day of my 8th grade graduation.

WEEKLY ROUND UP // 24.

I couldn't be happier that it's August. I don't know if I can mention it enough, but July was terrible. Not just for me, but for all the important people in my life. I'm so ready to make August a great month and I even have goals (!) that I want to accomplish to keep myself in check.

Enough about how terrible July was because I'm ready to move forward and talk about cool things on the internet this week!

- Isn't it time to start getting excited for that Tom Hanks movie about Mary Poppins? This should get you in the mood.
- If you haven't read the Harry Potter fanfic, do that first and then watch this webseries.
- I love cats....but everytime I'm around them, I almost die from my throat closing up. This possible cure would be awesome, but would be my starting path to becoming a cat lady.

- Will someone please buy this for me? I promise I'll do my laundry. Lol. That's a lie.

- Writing tips ... maybe I should follow some of these.
