HAIR, HAIR EVERYWHERE. And not a drop to drink.

It's Saturday night and I decided to stay home to "catch up on TV." I think I wanted to stay home because I work tomorrow morning, but even now, I'm regretting this decision because I am so bored. Bored enough to make a blog post all about my hair.

Sorry you have to deal with this. But you should be sorry that I'm this bored tonight. Blame my friends for still going out and having fun and not responding to my annoying emoji messages of pandas and sad faces.

15: Short hair. I look so weird. And skinny.

17: My senior year of high school. Mostly, I miss these bangs. I had great length and awesome side-swept bangs.

20: Growing out my hair from my crazy "Let's cut it all off!" moment when I was 19. Still digging my bangs though.

 photo fe077de7-7562-4579-8def-8a7a55cf7034_zps0b89c45f.jpg
21: WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MY BANGS? All my pictures from this trip bum me out because of how terrible my bangs are.

 photo IMG_0483.jpg
21: Best hair color though. I love when my hair is almost black. I used to curl my hair everyday. Now, I'm too lazy.

22: I did this. And, I kind of really liked it.

23: I cut my bangs again and they got too long immediately after I got them. Yeah, I could barely see anything during this stage.

 photo Photoon1-5-13at537PM_zps3d83404f.jpg
Lately: Still having problems with my bangs. I don't know what to do. I'm at a loss. I need a trim again and I need to figure out what to with my bangs. The post straight-cut grow-out has been a little problematic.

But let's be frank -- I've always had great hair.

WEEKEND REVIEW: Phoenix Suns Game.

I had a relatively tame weekend. Friday night, I went to the DAV to eat some fried fish that my Grandpa cooked. Saturday, I ended up staying home to catch up on TV (And sob while watching Parks and Rec.). But last night, my brother and I went to the Suns vs. Spurs game. I'm a huge Suns fan and he's a Spurs fan because he's a dick.

Enjoying my $10 beer.

This is what hanging out with a 16 year old boy is like. Always on his phone.

He is also not a fan of selfies.

Nathan was not amused.

Until the Spurs won.

Nate is my go-to sports buddy. He actually pays attention. Now, I just wish he would get his license so I could have a DD.

TV REVIEW: House of Cards.

This review will contain spoilers for all of the first season of House of Cards. I try not to give away too much though.

Wow.
It only took me just about three weeks to finish it. I felt like I was the only person left that hadn't watched all of it.

This thirteen episode series is based on a British show of the same name. It stars Kevin Spacey as Democrat Majority Whip Frank Underwood. The beginning scene is a little rough. He kills a dog while breaking the fourth wall to explain to the viewers about his dislike of useless pain.

As the show continues, we meet Underwood's wife - Claire. Claire is an incredibly interesting character. A lot of my interest surrounded this relationship. The marriage is based on a mutual understand of the need for success and their ambitions. They work together to achieve these lofty goals - usually his. Her goals are often put to the backburner while he forces her to use her own company to promote his own goals.

They also seem to have an understanding about outside relationships. Frank's sexual and professional relationship with the young reporter - Zoe - is okay with Claire. I think it's based on the notion that she knows its purely for his profit. He's using this reporter to get ahead. And, to get laid. However, Claire's own affair is on a different level -- a level to which I don't think Frank would approve.

For most of the series, Frank seems as if he's not human. Totally detached from human emotions. Totally blinded by ambition. However, we get a glimpse into Frank's human side when he has a library at his alma mater named after him and his old college friends come to see him. It is heavily implied that he had a relationship with his friend. Almost as if he loved this man, but knew that it would never be. It was touching.

Peter Russo, a young Congressman from Pennsylvania with a rough past, is the best character on the show. He becomes a pawn in Frank's master plan.

I was really intrigued by the show and I really enjoyed it. And then, the last two episodes really went into a totally different direction than I had anticipated. And, I don't even want to get into the ending.

It was really well done and I loved his to the camera remarks. Sometimes, I felt like the writing didn't really match the acting -- if that makes any sense. Some of the lines were just really jarring and unrealistic, but it wasn't a result of the acting.

I'm honestly impressed by this Netflix Original and I hope that they can keep creating content like this. I enjoyed watching the show (Maybe because I love political dramas). It definitely kept up with this trend of the anti-hero show.

Have you seen House of Cards? What did you think? Let me know in the comments.

A Deep Look At: Squirt by Lil Debbie

Sorry I'm not sorry to everyone in my life that has had to listen to this song a million times with me.
I think it's amazing.

0:07 -- Look at those panty hose. And that shirt. Halloween costume decided.
0:20 - Yes. That is cough syrup. She's making a beverage known as Purple Drank - which is cough syrup - with codeine - and Sprite. It's similar to taking PCP.
0:24 -- I don't understand the honey, but it works for me.
0:29 -- AND IT BEGINS.
0:39 -- 10 seconds in and you have to admit, it is kind of catchy.
0:43 -- Classy. And patriotic.
1:02 -- "I should have worked at KFC" This lyric is interesting because KFC is known for their birds. Well, bird is another term for cocaine. She's stating that she should have sold cocaine. GUYS, THIS SONG IS DEEP.
1:10 -- MY FAVORITE PART IS COMING UP.
1:14 -- GRRRRRRR.
"Before you plant the seed, gotta test the soil. Now I'm on your roof. Gargoyle. GRRRRRR."
1:20 -- After the first 20 times I watched this, my friends and I definitely ran out and bought some Squirt. It's just as disgusting as you think it is. But, now I'm craving some again.
1:37 -- Yes, RiFF RAFF is holding Miracle Whip in his hand. Why? I haven't figured that out yet.
1:38 -- BUT DO YOU LIKE HIS FACIAL HAIR? BECAUSE I DO.
1:49 -- He wants the world in his hands - Palm Pilot. But seriously. That facial hair. That takes effort.
2:04 -- The other greatest line in this song: "Now she like a movie -- coming soon." Thank you, RiFF RAFF.
2:20 -- I love the ICEE necklace with the bling.

So, this has become my life. I just watch Lil Debbie and RiFF RAFF videos all day and think about them. I've been following them on Twitter too. Which makes checking my Twitter feed a pleasure.

Oh, and be on the look-out for my upcoming post about RiFF RAFF's Christmas song. Because yeah, it exists. And yeah, it's just as awesome as you would expect.

Facts About Me.

1) I played the cello for seven years.
 photo cello_zps1969dacc.jpg
And I was actually pretty good at it. I went to a few Honor Orchestras and I even made it to the All-State Orchestra one year. And, I have the pleasure of being able to tell the story about the time I almost pooped myself on stage at Boston Symphony Hall.

2) I was a cheerleader.

People actually don't believe this one until I pull out the pictures because I am not the cheerleader type. I have a perma-bitchface and I am usually moping around about something. But, I actually loved cheerleading when I was young. I loved getting to march in the parades and I even made the drill team. I ultimately quit when I was in 5th grade because it got in the way of playing the cello.

3) The best night of my life was meeting Jeffree Star.

Does anyone even remember Jeffree Star? Internet royalty. Doesn't matter. My friends took me to Jeffree's show in downtown Phoenix as a birthday gift for my 17th birthday and we danced ALL night to ridiculous songs. I got to meet Jeffree and he said, "It's hot in here. Like a sauna." And in typical Kaileigh-fashion, I said, "OH MY GOSH! I KNOW!" and then we took a picture.

I have a copy of this picture in a frame somewhere. I wish I was kidding.

4) My little brother is 6 years younger than me.

I don't really have a fact about this goober, but my brother is awesome and I just wanted to include him.   He's 16 right now and he's such a dweeb. Our favorite bonding activity is

5) I don't watch movies, but when I do, I remember them line by line.

This is apparently a really annoying trait to have. Someone will say, "You remember in Scott Pilgrim?" And then I have to say, "Haven't seen it." Most conversations about movies end with me saying, "...Haven't seen it."

Unless it's Clerks. I have seen that movie so many times that I can recite the entire movie.

VALENTINE. SCHMALENTINE.

Today is Valentine's Day.

Shocker. I know.
I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day. I guess because I'm usually alone and it highlights how single I am. There was that one year when my then-boyfriend bought me a book about John Wayne Gacy. Yeah, his idea of romance was buying me a book about a serial killer. Needless to say, that relationship didn't last.

Here are some Valentine's Day related things for you to enjoy today. Whether you're with that someone special or you're alone - we can all enjoy looking at hearts on the internet.

- I love Meg's nails over at Radical Possibility. Also, check out everything else on her blog because I honestly am contemplating just showing up to her place and moving in.

- Want to cry? Watch this adorable Pixar short and sob along with me.
- Still haven't wrapped the gift for your honey? Check out these DIY's for wrapping.

- Basically... this is how I feel.

- This is the best post on not only Valentine's Day, but on ASKING FOR WHAT YOU WANT IN RELATIONSHIPS BECAUSE THAT IS THE ADULT/BEST THING TO DO.

TV REVIEW: Girls - "One Man's Trash" or A Rant.

There have been a lot of complaints about this episode (Example - this review on Slate). Men are complaining that it's unrealistic. But you know what I have to say to those men? "SHUT UP. SHUT UP SHUTUPSHUTUP. Just because Hannah does not look like Mila Kunis (Or some other skinny, hot lady), doesn't mean she can't pull some mad tail. LOOK AT MEN. UGLY MEN GOT HOT LADIES ALL THE TIME IN FICTION AND YOU ALL THINK THAT'S BELIEVABLE."

We can all complain about Girls. There are a lot of problems with the show. We can all agree on that, but the problem doesn't have anything to do with Lena's body.

I personally like that she's not ashamed of herself. Not everyone looks like Allison Williams. I know I don't. Seeing how comfortable Lena is on screen makes me more comfortable with myself. And despite EVERYTHING ELSE WRONG with that show, that's a pretty awesome thing.

And was she really rude to him? NO. Yeah, it got a little awkward when she asked him to beg her to stay, but GOOD FOR HER. Why don't the rest of us act assertive like this? And the sex scene - women act like that during actual sex and are not perceived as "rude" by their partners.

So for a moment, forget that you hate Girls because it's racist and exclusive.
And let's just think about how it's totally believable for a hot guy to be attracted to her.
And how MUCH MEN SUCK.

Check out Alyssa Rosenberg's piece on this episode to see a well-written version of what I want to say.

What did you think about this week's Girls? And, sorry I'm not sorry for ranting.

RECENTLY READ: How Did You Get This Number?

How Did You Get This Number? Sloane Crosley.

I have so many books on my Kindle that I'm interested in reading (Obviously I'm interested in them or they wouldn't be on my Kindle), but I keep finding excuses not to read them. "That'll take SO long to read" and "....I'm not ready yet." And, I'm definitely putting off reading The Life of Pi for my book club because I just don't want to read it.

So, if something seems quick and easy, it appeals to me a lot more. At least right now and How Did You Get This Number hit the spot.

I really enjoyed this book. Some of the stories are really goofy and feel good while others are more heart-wrenching. The last story in the book is really amazing.

Goal #3 - 23 for 23 - 13/50

LET'S TALK ABOUT BEER, BABY.

And cider too.

Here are some of the beers I've been drinking lately.

Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro
via.

I first tried this beer in Philadelphia. I was at this bar and I said to the bartender, "Give me something good." And this is what I got and I definitely was not disappointed.
This beer reminds me of a dessert. It is creamy and delicious.
I guess my only complaint is that I can only have just one at a time because it really is that creamy and rich.

Fox Barrel's Blackberry Pear Cider
via.

Everyone that knows me is aware of my love of cider. But, my love does not extend to pear cider. I've had a few terrible experiences with pear ciders and I always say, "It tastes the same going down as it does coming up."
Now, one of my favorite pizza places - Mellow Mushroom - recently added Fox Barrel to the menu. And I was apprehensive, but this is actually really delicious. The pear isn't overly strong. The blackberry is very sweet and it tastes like juice.

New Belgium's Snow Day

via.

Unfortunately, this beer is seasonal. And at the bar near my house, I can't even get it anymore. But, it's definitely a winter favorite.
I love dark ales for winter and Snow Day does not disappoint. It has such a great flavor. I had it for the first time this winter and I cannot wait until next winter so I can drink more of it.

Any beers you've been loving lately? Let me know in the comments. I'd love to try them.

Weekly Round-Up // 6

- A Mean Girls musical? Four for you, Glen Coco! You go Glen Coco! And none for Gretchen Weiners! BYE!

- Macalay Culkin's home. Oh?

- A great post over at Ladyville about feminism. It definitely inspired me to move a few feminist books to the top of my To-Read List.

- Another great list over at Thought Catalog. I love #10 - even though I hardly get to do it in Arizona. I haven't done #25 or #26 for a while, but those are both great feelings in their own ways.

- 30 Rock is over, but here's a list of the 100 best quotes. Except, I didn't see, "I like it so much I wanna take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant" on there.

- PONIES. SMALL PONIES. IN SWEATERS.
- This is why I love Sesame Street:

Getting Back On Track.

January was actually a great month for me. I was able to reconnect with my friends and I had a lot of fun.

But... I spent a lot of money, skipped out on running, have a huge mess of clothes, and I feel like my overall plans have been slipping away.

In February, I need to get back on track.

- Find that budget again.
Depressing. I know, but I went a little wild.

- Run and walk.
My run one day and then walk the next day routine quickly morphed into "Run when I can for at least 15 minutes." I would go four days without running and then I would get incredibly depressed and then wonder why.

-  Laundry.
I have piles of clean clothes that just need to be folded. It's getting ridiculous.

- Clean up.
In addition to all those clothes, my desk has become a dumping spot for everything. I usually put everything away soon after throwing it on my desk, but I can't even sit at it right now.

- Read.
I was doing so well with reading and now I just keep getting distracted.

- Blogging.
I used to write out my posts on Sunday night and then get everything ready to go on Hootsuite so I could have it all tweeted out throughout the day. Not anymore and I want to get my posts ready so I can work during the week and not worry about it or feel bad when I don't post.

I need to be able to find a balance between having fun and getting my life in order.
