Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.
A lot of people have recommended this book to me. And, I was really apprehensive because I'm not the biggest fan of fiction. Surprisingly, despite the other books I've reviewed, I really love historical non-fiction and I love reading about the revolutionary war.
But, once I started Gone Girl, I could not put it down. I was enthralled. And angry. My mom kept checking on me because I was yelling at the book. And, if a book is making you yell at it, it's doing something right.
It's the story of this couple, Nick and Amy. Amy goes missing on their 5th wedding anniversary. The story is told from her perspective in the form of a diary and his perspective. And unlike a lot of books I've read that have perspectives from different characters, the voices are distinct.
And unlike other fictional books I've read, it was incredibly easy to get into it. A couple of pages in and I was hooked and couldn't put it down.
