Book #9: John Adams

John Adams - David McCullough

Quickly - one of the things I hate the most is when they change book covers to reflect the movie that is based on the book. Huge pet peeve.

Now that that's out of the way...

John Adams gets a lot of flack. A lot of people see him as George Washington's annoying Vice President. The guy that whined and created the Alien and Sedition Acts to protect himself from any criticism. The guy that couldn't get along with Alexander Hamilton despite agreeing with him. The guy that lost to Thomas Jefferson.

But, most people forget that John Adams was instrumental in America's independence.

This book was very long - it took me a month to read it, but it was worth it. I ended up really liking John Adams. Some of my favorite parts was the correspondence between John and Abigail. Their relationship was amazing and very sweet.

I don't like how Hamilton was vilified though.

Now, I'm going to watch the miniseries!
